videos and music starting and stopping !

Any help on this appreciated very much , cant watch videos or on my laptop they keep starting and stopping then starting and stopping , really annoying ! anyone know what may have caused this , or what to try ? checked for viruses and everything seems in order , help

Is it downloads or stuff you have actually saved to disc? If it's downloads such as uTube or Real Player are the problem then increase the buffer size and it will be ok.

Thanks for the advice highflier , its when i want to play videos on bebo or youtube etc , how do increase the buffer size ? ta very much

On Utube there is a small circle at the bottom of the video that marks how much of the video has played. there is also a red bar that moves ahead of the circle.

The bar shows how much unwatched video has been stored in the buffer.

If the circle catches up with the bar the video will stall until enough info has gone into the buffer to to allow it to continue.

If you are having this problem you must have a v. slow connection.

The system should automatically sense if you have a slow connection eg dial up and over buffer accordingly.

However if not you can press the pause button at the start of the playback for a few extra seconds the buffer will continue filling then press play and you should have no stalling
