vhs to dvd

have a lot of old video footage taken in vhs (small tapes). anyone know how to transfer to dvd or better still who offers this service.
 
Not sure about small tapes...from a camcorder? As long as you have a device that can play them you should be able to output this to any decent DVD recroder
 
bought a dvd recorder in aldi last week for €100, partly for this purpose. most camcorders which used the 'little' tapes came with a full sized adapter, and as I have tuned in the dvd recorder to receive the video I intend to transfer those old vhs copies to dvd this way. only program that the dvd recorder cant recognise is tg4 which ( around here anyway) comes as channel 68. keeps getting it mixed up with tv3 ( ch 66) so I have to find out how to fine tune it to tg4.
 
Would [broken link removed]available in Aldi be any use?

What's the difference (quality, format) between using that and using a DVD recorder (which I don't have)?
