Looking for another option for my parents. Both have doctor cards now, so fees back for GP visits are not now a priority. Cardiac consultants, eye specialists are important now, and I think hips could be an issue down the line for one. VHI themselves recommended Comp Pl Plus level 1 to them, but I'm wondering might there be better options out there, that suits their needs. Any recommendations greatly appreciated, because hia is a minefield.
Looking at this comparison on HIA that Company Plan Plus Level 1 does appear to be geared towards better hospital cover but as usual these days only allocates 80% to ortho & opth. The premium appears to be €1,719.87 so not cheap but after the recent increases not too dear also. It is light on the G.P./Consultant cover which you appear to prefer in light of the G.P. card.
totalhealthcover.ie is recommended regularly but there is a fee of about €125 and probably need to be abouot 6 weeks before renewal to avail of it. There are other health brokers available too on Google.
