Venetian blind for bay window

Hi - I have a bay window in a downstairs bedroom that has 2 side windows and a big main window...the widths are 2ft x 10ft x 2ft, and approx 3 ft high.

I rang a couple of places from the golden pages to get a quote for horizontal venetian blinds. I wanted wooden ones but I was told they don't come in widths of 10 feet, so I got prices for wood effect aluminium. One place quoted 380 euro and another quoted 365 euro. I think this is really expensive for one window...I would have thought a couple of hundred euro would have got me something i.e 200 or 250 max.

Are there any places that do good value venetian (horizontal or vertical) blinds? Is it too difficult for a diy job? (I'm not v good at diy a few shelves wold be as far as I go!)

I also rang Hillarys blinds but they wouldn't quote over the phone, I have to make an appointment for them to come around...are they any good?

Cheers,
Ciaran.

yes hilary blinds came and quoted for blinds to my house! have good selection, they were very helpful and not that expensive. we also got quotes from thomas Sanderson blinds who were quite pricely! but opted for a local store who were more expensive than Hilary's but had better quality stuff in my own opinion!

just to give example. for four bed house that's three venetian winters(large), three roman blinds on winters, three small velux windows and a roller blind for bathroom was €1700! thats a four bed house. thats good. and thomas Sanderson were twice that price! and whilst they had more choice it wasn't worth it! and Hilary's were lovely and had enough choice!
