Hi there i have a big sitting room in my new house, its 22ft wide and has a full glass gable in it this section of the house is to have exposed timber/Steel trusses does anybody know where to source/size these? Im not sure if timber would be structurally strong enough for it.

Re: Vaulted Ceilings with exposed trusses!

Three truss mfrs off my head:

Thos. McDonaghs, Ballybane, Galway
James McMahon, Limerick
Clonoe Timber Mouldings, Co Tyrone 028 877 40513

Don't know what their finish capabilities are, but they do make all sizes/kinds. Also have a look here [broken link removed]

I have 12m (i.e. 39') trusses in my house, although not exposed, so they're definately available.........

12M you must surely have a load bearing wall or two in between though?

No, actually, but some studs were put up afterwards. The bottom member of the truss is, tbh, colossal - iirc, 250-300mm. That's very big for a truss.
