VAT on purchasing ex company car.

Hi all,

just seeking a little advice, looking at buying a car for my son. We are looking at a car which is an ex company car, 2 years old, Iris car (not imported) and it is registered to the company, so they were exempt VAT. If we buy the car, as a private user will we have to pay VAT. Thanks in advance.

Im not sure but I think the vendor maybe the one responsible for remitting any VAT if it is due.
