VAT Exemption

I seem to recall from the distant past that if a company's turnover from exports is over a certain % of the overall turnover that such company can apply for VAT exemption altogether.
Does this still apply and, if so, what is the threshold?
Is there a form through which this is requested?

Thanx

You are correct - in the olden days it was called a 13A cert. With the consolidation of VAT legislation it now called a Form 56A. Provided more than 75% of the turnover is either exported or made through intra-community supplies the company can qualify. I'm am not aware that there is any absolute threshold of value. The form is available on the Revenue website. http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/vat/forms/index.html
