VAT charge buying online within EU

Hi all. Probably a stupid question - I am buying some bathroom accessories online. I thought that I would not have to pay VAT on it. Is this right?

I thought that as I was buying from within the EU I dont have to pay any duty. Is this right?

I am going to buy from a company in UK or Germany, I dont suppose this is relevant though, ie both EU.

Yes you have to pay VAT unless you have a VAT registration number or are explicitly exempt from VAT. It's DUTY you don't have to pay.
