This topic was discussed on the radio last week or earlier this week. Following discussions at the public accounts commission ( I think!!) VAT is now due back to thousands of people for glasses/contacts that they have bought over the last 5 years. The VAT is due back on the sale of glasses and contacts and not on the tests and service charges I understand.
Has anybody managed to claim any money back yet? Having spent about €500 on glasses a few years ago and regularly buying contacts i could be due some cash back. How do I go about it?
