Saw this programme on tv the other night. Looked a nice place for a weekend break. Anyone been there?. Thoughts?

Went there around 3 years ago. Thought it was 'very local' - not many non- Spanish tourists. I'd say there are lots of Spanish ones, judging by the coach loads pulling up outside our hotel. It's also a smokers paradise! It's undergone and undergoing a big infrastructure development boom - to make it into what it is - Spain's third city. Not many English speaking people then. Think you'll need a car to get around. The Old market, the beaches, the Water world place all very nice. Worth a weekend break if you like Spain, IMO.

Was there this time last year. A very nice city with the best of all worlds in that it has some very decent shopping, good restaurants, sights, museum and aquarium and the beach is only a short tram ride.

We stayed at the which was extremely central. It is the top-rated hotel for Valencia on
