Went there around 3 years ago. Thought it was 'very local' - not many non- Spanish tourists. I'd say there are lots of Spanish ones, judging by the coach loads pulling up outside our hotel. It's also a smokers paradise! It's undergone and undergoing a big infrastructure development boom - to make it into what it is - Spain's third city. Not many English speaking people then. Think you'll need a car to get around. The Old market, the beaches, the Water world place all very nice. Worth a weekend break if you like Spain, IMO.
