HD recorders seem to start at 80 GB these days, the largest I've seen is 300 GB so 250 is good, depending on the price obviously.
Whether it's enough will depend on how much you record & the quality you record at (sometimes up to 10x the space). I assume also the slot on the front is for a DVD writer, which should allow you to burn programs you want to keep.
