using more than 1 estate agent to sell

If I use >1 estate agent to sella house,what is the situation in regards to payment?Is a selling fee payable to all agents, or just to the EA who sells the house (excluding advertising charges)

What does your contract or letter of agreement with each EA say about payment and/or exclusivity?

We have only 1 reply from the 3 eas we contacted-there is nothing about exclusivity in their letter,only the 1% charge in respect to a sale, and advertising fees and VAT.I take it from this, that we would have to pay all 3 advertising fees etc, but only the EA who gets the sale would get the 1% of the sale price-Am I correct in this assumption??

AFAIK, you would have to clearly state to the EA that you intended using more than one agency. You might find that their offer is different in these
circumstances. I think exclusivity is implied unless clearly stated.
