Tax would be high at €1293 per annum.
Did you get an insurance quote? A 32 year old male insuring a 3l car could be very pricey.
Fuel consumption will be very, very heavy - low 20's mpg.
I would think twice if I were you.
10/11 year old car
81k miles
3.0 litre engine €1300 tax, add another few quit on this budget
I would offer 3.5k and maybe go to 4k, and the seller is lucky
edit
Forget about the running costs of big engine, tax, insurance and petrol in the first year alone will dwarf the purchase price
To answer your question you'd need a full service history with receipts and you'd need to know how it had been driven, but generally big lazy engines are the ones that last longest, particularly the Toyotas. If its been well looked after another 100k miles should not be a problem.... I know that it is old but the mileage is relatively low and being a LEXUS/TOYOTA it should be reliable. ...
Would it be reasonable to expect a couple of years troublefree motoring from this car or would I be buying myself a lot of problems. ...
