Use of child booster seats in rental car in USA

Does anyone know the rules in the USA about use of booster seats (like [broken link removed])?

From looking at [broken link removed] they seem to be more into full height seats. Will we be covered if we bring our own booster from here, instead of paying the rental cost of a full size seat.

Like here it depends on the age / weight of the child. I was in California and the legal requirement seemed to have been quite young for the full size seat, maybe 5 or 6. I'd recommend you google the seat requirements for whatever state you are going to, ie 'Florida Highway Patrol Child car seat law'
