Are US closed end funds treated the same as UK investment trusts for tax purposes by revenue?. they more or less have the same structure as investment trusts in that the share price of the CEF (closed end fund) is not equal to the sum of its constituent stock values. It can trade at a premium or deficit to its constituents?

Thanks for that, just that on my etrade statement it classifies them as "mutual funds" and differentiates them from shares and ETFs which are not differentiated from each other?
