Hello all,

Am in the process of getting quotes for replacement uPVC windows for my house. Lowest quote so far is from Acorn Windows. Has anyone here used them or even heard of them? Their website says they've been in business for over 20 years, but I can't find a single review or even a passing comment about them anywhere on d'internet. Have also received quotes from (in ascending order of cost) Regency, Asgard and Senator.

Comments on any of the above suppliers would be much appreciated, on this thread or by PM. Cheers.

Hi I got windows replaced by a company called McMullen and O'Donnell. They are from Tyrone but have a rep in the Dublin who will measure up. they were €1000 cheaper than the next price.
My family have used them a number of times previously in the North and they have good quality windows and excellent service. They were in and out in one day. You can always push them on price.

PM if you have any questions.

I have nothing to to do with the company other than a satisfied customer

Everyone, please note we do not allow recommendations via PM, doing so may lead to a ban.

Can I ask did you decide on a company yet? And if so would you recommend them? Looking for similar job to be done at the moment

I used acorn windows and they did an excellent job, not an off the shelf job either. There was a small problem with a door and they came out and fixed it no bother.

coolhandluke, so far acorn have given me the best estimate. They are calling out to do a detailed survey to give an accurate quote. However, they mentioned it would not be much more to go with triple glazing - did you go with the triple glazing option with them?
