If your not a badge snob and are looking at Audi or VW then look at the Skoda Octavia or Superb, they have the VW shell and bits and the controls are Audi.

The superb was designed by VW but was shelved for the pheaton and Skoda took the Superb from VW and put their badges on it. Half the cost of a VW or Audi and more reliable.
 


I don't know about "more" reliable. Skoda does consistently well on the JD Power survey but that, I feel anyway, has as much to with levels of expectation and consumer's own self justification for purchasing a Skoda.

It has to said they are making good cars now but no better than the other VAG brands such as Seat or the French 'big three'.
