I've just changed home insurer. Included in my documents packs is the Notice of Interest letter for my mortgage company.

What do people usually do with this?
Pop it in the post?
Drop it into a branch?

Ta.

Are you sure that that's not simply a copy for your records and the insurer has already notified the lender?

It's a long time now since I've had a mortgage but I don't recall ever notifying the lender every time that I changed home insurer (almost every year). Maybe you're expected/required to. But the most important thing is that the property is adequately insured.

It gave me to understand I need to send it on eg Please ensure to provide this to your mortgage provider.

I thought about email but I don't see any way to email them with a document, just to request a callback.
I might wander into the branch and see if it saves me price of a stamp.

Occasionally and I do mean Occasionally the insurer would contact me looking for proof of insurance (maybe twice over 30 years and probably 9 mortgages)

I never proactively notified them of changes of insurer and I changed pretty much every year, chasing the cheapest renewal price.

They were however mentioned as an interested party in the insurance documents....

...standard question when getting house insurance.

I changed insurance company once for our rental property and did have to bring the insurance cert into the office (ebs); was a bit of hassle at the time (not much though); . haven't changed insurance company since -I shop around for a better quote and then go back to RSA and ask them to match.
The mortgage company have an insurable interest so need details of the house insurance

Update, I dropped it into the branch and they said they'd forward it onto appropriate department.
It was convenient enough for me to do, but otherwise I'd have probably waited for them to request it from me.
