I work for a UK based company.
My employment for this company is carried out 90% overseas (Far East) and 10% in the UK
I'm non resident in the UK and pay UK income tax and full National Insurance on the UK based portion of my employment (10%)
I spend around about 5 months per year living in Ireland
Does anybody know if I'm income tax liable in Ireland?
I would think not.....you must be 'ordinarily resident' in Ireland for more than 6 months ( 183 days ) per year to become liable for tax. You should maintain a diary and proof of absence from Ireland should this ever become an issue for you.
You can also become tax resident if you spend 280 days in aggregate in any year and the preceeding year - sounds like you may be resident, but you should take professional advice - this is a tricky situation.....
