Unusual business start up: Cant get insurance.

Hello guys,

A friend of mine is starting up a new business & is finding it difficult to get insurance for this new venture.

Basically there is an element of danger in this "pursuit", he has tried the big insurance companyies & has had a broker do the rounds also.

With out going in to details of this pursuit it is certainly not as dangerous as say bungee jumping or parachute jumping, it does exist in other countries but not in Ireland yet.

I think he may need a broker who does quirky stuff or else possibly an insurance company abroad may give cover, i would appreciate any suggestions.

I assume this is public liability insurance he needs?

you need to find a broker that deals with Lloyds underwriters in the UK. Tend to do stuff that local companies wouldnt do.

Try bhpinsurances.ie - have used them for public liability insurance for a couple of different things. No affiliation.

Even Quinns are quiet good for these sort of things.
