im just wondering has anyone ever had experience of dealing with 14 year old child who is out of control.he lives at home.all his younger siblings are afraid of him.he wont go to counselling.he's very abusive to mother and older sister,he has even hit them both.from what ive read a.s.b.o's relate to harassing someone outside your home.has anyone any suggestions,would social welfare help? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cant offer much in support but I'd recommend you stay away from an ASBO if at all possible.

Maybe try contacting the local garda station and try to speak with a Juvenile Liasion Officer or could a school recommend a Social Worker - I'd also try talking to these supports youself and putting their recoomendations into practice before putting them in contact with the child if at all possible. Try not to show (to the child) that you have lost control of them.
