Hello,

I received an unregistered judgement of 13K against my name last July. If I apply for a loan or mortgage will this affect my application?

Re: Unregistered Jugdment

Yes is the simplest answer.

However if your a first time buyer and have savings then one of the subprime lenders should take your case at a higher rate though.

You won't get a 100% mortgage with a sub prime lender however and the solicitor on your case will have to demand the judgement is cleared more than likely, i.e you will have to have a deposit of say 10% of the purchase price & 13k to clear the judgement more than likely.

After 18 months you can then remortgage back to one of the main lenders like IIB, EBS providing you don't take on anymore debt in the meantime and you keep up to date with your repayments naturally.

Talk to a broker.

Thanks for the reply...

I spoke to a broker the other day and he told me that because it was an unregistered judgement rather then a registered judgment this may not show up on their checks? Is that correct?

It comes up as a question on the application form so you'd be obliged to tell them.
