Unpaid credit card and ICB

Hi all, hope I'm in the right forum for this,

Basically my husband closed his AIB account and cancelled his credit card earlier this year. He didn't realise he would have to pay fees to cancel his credit card, and today his parents forwarded on two letters from AIB (AIB had his home address, new bank uses his current address)

The first was dated late April informing us about the debt, the second was dated May, stating that we had been reported to the ICB. Now, as soon as we got these letters, husband called AIB and paid off the 30 something euro he owed. He asked about the ICB referral and the lady he was speaking to said it won't show on any reports.

I was just wondering if anyone can confirm that this is correct? We're saving for a mortgage at the minute and would be devastated if our credit rating was affected because of this genuine mistake. I've applied for our credit rating - just waiting to receive it.
