Unofficial redundancy notification received

Its comign in about 2-3 weeks*, can I put in my claim for dole now ? Even though I don't have any documents in anticipation of moving myself up the chain/waiting-list ?

I work in a MNC and the section will be let go according to the guy who hired me (and who had to recommend me for redundancy)
 
You must wait until your employment is actually terminated before signing on at your local social welfare office.

You should sign-on as soon as possible after your termination date. You do not have to produce the P45 straight away but you will need to bring it to social welfare office as soon as you get it. Your claim cannot be processed fully until they see the P45.
Bring along any docs relating to redundancy - ie letter, RP50 Form, P45 if you have it, and any photo-id and proof of address.

You can fill-in the Jobseeker Benefit/Allowance application form now and bring it with you when you sign-on.
