my gf and i are soon to have our first baby. we live together, but are not married.

what will change when the baby comes along, tax-wise? does she claim whatever relief(s) are going, and my situation remain the same? (this is what i presume will happen).

As there are no tax credits for children I don't see any changes in your tax situation. Both single people taxed singly

Not a tax issue but obviously she will be entitled to SW Child Benefit and Early Childcare Supplement. See www.welfare.ie for details. It's possible that other stuff could be relevant but impossible to say given the scant details that you have posted.

Well there is a Home Carer's Tax Credit for a parent who stays at home most or all of the time to mind a child or children but only married couples need apply.

Well aware of the Homecarer's tax credit but as the OP stated they are unmarried my reply was to his question
