Unlocking 02 Motorola for Vodaphone SIM

Hi - I am on 02 customer and use a motorola phone. I want to give my old motorola phone to my husband because he hates the phone he is using at the moment. When he puts his sim in the phone asks you to "enter subsidy code". This is probably some blocking device by O2 to stop other network cards being used - is there a way around this? Thanks!

i think if you go to o2 they will unblock it for you

As long as you've been on O2 for a while (i.e. they've made money off you), they should have no issues giving you the unblocking code.

Particularly if you've upgraded to your current phone and had your other phone on O2 as well.

However, you'll probably need to be using your old Motorola when you call them up, or at least have the IMEI number for the old phone when you go to unlock it.

thanks - was at a market recently and they had a stand for unblocking phones - looked dodgy tho - wd rather go the "legit" route
