uneven tyre wear bmw 320d, possible causes?

my 2004, 320d, 151k has worn the inside of passenger side rear wheel, it has worn down to the wire but only in two sections of the tyre, each section is about 6 inches long on opposite sides of the circumference of the tyre. the strip that has worn is about 2 inches wide from the outside of the tyre. the rest of the tyre is perfect.

i had rear wheels aligned when the tyres were replaced not so long ago, might it be bushings or wheel bearings etc? or should i have four wheel alignment done again? on occasion when turning right i hear a thump from the rear of the car!

why did you just get the rear wheels aligned?

you should probably get all 4 wheels aligned, and make sure the tyres are balanced properly.

after that i think your looking at suspension components, track rods, bushes etc etc
