Unable to download Skype - help please

When I try to download Skype, I get this error message -
"Skype Setup.exe is not a valid Win 32 application".

What operating system are you using? (Obviously windows, but Vista, Xp, 2000 98?)

Which skype version have you downloaded?

I tried what it said on that link, but same error message came up.
I am using Windows XP Service pack 2 & Internet Explorer 7. I tried to download Skype Version 3.5.. Any more help.

Maybe try downloading it using a different browser such as Firefox. If it works there then you may need to start scanning your PC for nasties in case Windows or IE is infected somehow (see the "clean PC" sticky thread at the top of this forum).

Thanks folks. Got that sorted. Deleted old Skype files & deleted temp internet files. Downloaded new Skype version with Internet Explorer. Working ok now.
