I suspect this. If the property has been registered with the PRAI and the mortgage is registered there, possession of the title deeds no longer means what it used to mean in the past, and Avant may simply not want the trouble and expense of storing and tracking a bunch of formerly-important-but-not-so-much-nowadays documents. So they never asked for them at the time they granted their mortgage and they were left with UB, who are now trying to clear out unfinished business and want the documents off their hands.Ah, could the deeds be redundant if it's a Registry of Title?
