Does anyone know if a person permanently resident and domiciled in the UK, and working there for more than 20 years, must pay tax on an inheritance from an Irish resident and domiciled parent?
I know that in Ireland the tax is calculated based on the beneficiary's relationship to the deceased. In the UK the tax is calculated based on the value of the deceased's estate. But I can't find anything about an Irish ex-pat inheriting from abroad on HMRC website or elsewhere.
