UK car supermarkets

Hi,
Has anyone on the forum bought a car from a UK car supermarket?
If so, what are they like to do business with? Can a cash buyer negotiate a discount with them or are there prices fixed? The reason I ask is I've seen a car I like the look of but the asking price is a little over my budget.

bought a car last year from cargiant ( London) fixed price + a fee for history check
- think it took about two hours as they check it over again before handing you the keys
