Ubuntu updates - now can't connect to wireless boradband

Hi there,
Am going a little nuts.
I have a Dell Mini 9 with Ubuntu. My eircom wireles broadband was working fine.
I downloaded latest updates for Ubuntu and now that I have restarted the machine I can't connect to broadband anymore.

It sees the network but keeps saying that there is "no connection".
I've tried the usual rebooting, turning modem off and on but I am at a loss.

Any ideas?
 
I would turn the wireless router off and on again as I've seen that resolve such problems. More likely is that a kernel update broke your wireless. Open a Terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and type uname -r to check which Kernel version you have. If it's 2.6.28-12 then that may have caused the problem. In any case reboot the system and select an earlier Kernel version from the boot menu, that may fix the problem.

I've also tried the following without much luck.

sudo vi /etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf
sudo killall nm-system-settings
If you can shed any light I'd appreciate it.
