UB Mortgage Payment Date

Have recently taken out a mortgage with Ulster Bank and have been informed that the monthly mortgage repayments will be collected on the 1st of each month. I rang them to request that this be changed to the 3rd or 4th of each month (to give some time for me to transfer money to the mortgage account from the date I get paid etc) but the bank refused point blank and said all their mortgage repayments are taken on the 1st of the month.

Is this the case for anyone else with a UB mortgage??

Sounds like another example of UB's legendary customer service.

Don't think I'm bitter just because they're the the only provider who ever turned me down for a mortgage.

Reason for refusal? They didn't like how much we were paying for childcare at the time (our youngest was leaving creche to start school in six weeks - that UB mob are good at taking the long view...). I told them that while Rose West was indeed cheaper, she seemed to be unavailable at the time.....
