Two private health insurances

My Company has our family covered with one private health insurance while my wife has all of us also with a different health insurance.

One is Vhi and the other Quinn healthcare.

The reason for this is that Vhi has the dental plan so we get money back of our dental work. On the other hand Quinn has it's own benefits too.

My question is: Is this legal? My reasoning is that it is but someone mentioned to me that they thought it was OK.

The other question is can we claim BIK return from the Revenue for both of us. I have applied a few days ago and my wife just got the numbers from their finance so she's planning to claim the 20%.

Again, someone in the Office was saying that only one person can claim payments to the Revenue.

I am a law abiding citizen so would not like to be involved in anything dodgy.

you can only claim back for one i would presume. also as you have 2 insurances comp's both would have to split the cost of any hospital claim. and that would get very messy.

don't think you can claim twice either from revenue, would be like a double claim
