TV problems - No Aerial

I have just moved into a rented house and am having tv problems!

I have 2 tvs. One is an old tv/video combi and the other is a new Phillips 19” Digital Crystal Clear 3000 Series

Here is the problem. Using the old tv I can get a very faint RTE2 (was only checking to see if it worked i.e. aerial in attic that would pick it up. Presume there is an aerial somewhere if it picked RTE2 up??)

But if I plug in the Phillips TV and try and tune it it picks up no channels. Is it something to do with the new TV
