we're hoping to upgrade our tv and dvd in early jan. we have an old sony CRT 32" prob 10 years old- nothing much wrong with it other than it's 2' deep and 62kg in weight and taking up a whole corner of the sitting room. a new lcd tv makes more sense spacewise and in terms of sound and vision and connectivity. other than the extra size (and cost!) is there any benefit of a 40" over a 32"?
we also have an old pioneer 5.1 channel home theatre system xv-dv55 which is a lovely bit of kit but again it's so old it no longer plays cd's and seems quite 'fussy' about playing not-so-new rented dvd's. i'd like to keep this as it cost a fortune when we bought it and it's a lovely bit of furniture - is it possible to 'upgrade' this somehow to make it more user friendly?
