TV & Broadband services

Hi

would appreciate any opinions anyone has re TV and Broadband services.

Dillema

Want to Get Digtal TV and Broadband in the new house. Dont want to get a phone line as a) will not use if for calls b) do not want to pay line rental

So that rules out eircom/BT etc for broadband.

Have sky at current place with no broadband and love the service.

Signed up to NTL for Digital TV and Broadband for €45pm

Got a call from NTL there to say they cant provide broadband as my area is not cabled for it.

That leaves only option of wireless broadband (Digiweb or Irishbroadband) and Tv (NTL or SKY)

Any advice on combinations? anyone used a combination of these services already?

Anyone else find it strange that NTL dont offer Broadband in blackrock co. Dublin yet?

Not so strange. Their cable upgrade is ongoing. They only upgraded the cable in Dundrum to be suitable 3 weeks ago.

You should call UPC ( NTL) and try to get a proper answer on when they
will be cabling your area. The call centre operators will not know this,
only technical support. It may be that this is coming your way very soon.

I use Sky for TV and O2 wireless broadband for laptop and have to say have never had problems with either service...no affiliation with either co.
