I will not mention names for obvious reasons.
I am a manager at a company, which recently bought part of a business and some contracts from another company. As a result of this process, it involved transferring some staff across.
One of the TUPE staff was applying for a mortgage prior to the transfer, now since he informed his bank of this, they have turned him away and told him to come back in 12 months time as they consider it to be a change of job / employer. This particular staff member had 6 years service with the previous company. He approached me to say he was very unhappy with this.
Would anyone have any advise on this or if we as a company could assist him in some way by providing a letter stating he transferred employer under the Transfer of Undertakings Legislation and his years of service still stand.
Thanks.
