Hi
I bought a pressie of a Samsung LCD TV for the folks, they use the VCR still and have all the channels tuned in through the VCR, but I cant get the TV to recognise the VCR, we cant watch videos or record anything, the nearest thing that loooks relevant to a VCR is a screen channell 19 with two white lines down the screen, I have read the manual cover to cover and tried everything that seemed remotely relevant but with no success??

Any ideas the mam wont survive without her weekly recording for Fair city etc etc

The two vertical white lines with older equipt used to signify that the TV had a signal from the VCR . The clearer the lines , the clearer the signal . If so you now have to find a switch at back of VCR to turn off the "Tuning IN" signal and the white lines will be replaced by a picture from whatever TV station the VCR is set at - at least this was in the olden days before digital etc.

How is the Video connected?
Try changing the input from TV to Ext1 or Ext2 if it is connected by scart
