Tumble dryer vent query

Got one today and thought that there would be nothing to installation!

Simple task, (even for me). Take out of wrapping, put vent pipe into machine with other end into wall outlet hole then push machine back under worktop. How wrong I was!!!

The machine is going against a wall, but the vent outlet pipe is on the gable wall, to the right of the machine as i look at it. This hole does not seem to be back far enough and as a result, the appliance will not push back under worktop as the outlet pipe prevents it from doing so.

Is the only answer, to ask builder to redrill the hole a little furtner in and fill the other one?

have a look at the back as well, some of the newer models have back and side vents. if so take the vent cover off the back and fix it to the side

no such luck, but on the bright side, shop are exchanging for a Tricity side vented model.
