Anyone working in Tullamore?? If so, what's the town like with regard to property buying, socialising, commuting to???

I dont but many friends of mine do. If sounds like a great bit of fun and prices are increasing in terms of both residential and commerical. It also has begun to get that "fastest growing town in Ireland" tag so that cant be bad. Most people do travel a bit to work though as not tonnes of jobs there.

its the best of the midland towns .... i.e. portlaoise, portarlington, athlone, mulllingar....... has very good social side ...sports, musical soc ... housing costs rising all the time .....

Have to agree with hagimalone - great town - but prefer Athlone

I commute to Tullamore from Athlone, shopping is definitely better in Athlone, and definitely will be when this opens

It all goes back to shopping doesn it ;-)

But to get back to the topic of Tullamore - there's a good train service to Dublin and lots commute up. I think about 50% of working people that live in Tullamore commute(from Pope's Children book by David Macwilliams)
