Tullamore-Newbridge Kildare

Hi

Can anyone who may have travelled or does so regularly travel from Tullamore to Newbridge give me the quickest, most direct route from Tullamore (N80) to Newbride. Is it best to go through Portloise or do I turn off in mountmellic for portarlington. Also is there a bus that go everyday or is it best to drive?? Thanks
