Tuition Fees

I have had considerable tuition fees to pay over the last couple of years in my household. Yet, I only seem to be granted a few measly hundred quid in tax credits. I use ROS and it calculates it internally. so I am not sure how exactly it is worked out. Any ideas?

It is only allowed at the 20% rate of tax and there is a ceiling also. historically that was, I think €2,500 but is €5,000 pa now, so max relief now is €5,000 x 20%.

Thanks for that, it clears that issue up. I keep mixing it up with medical fees, but haven't they reduced that now also in the Budget

Yes they have so if you have any expensive qualifying dental work to get done head down to that orthodontist fast
