Hi,
My wife used to work for a multinational. As part of a company share scheme she held onto a small amount of shares. When she left the company she recieved the shares in share certificate form. Rather than have the certificate hanging around the house I deposited the shares (and certificate) with Davy stockbrokers, with whom I have an online trading account. I sold the same shares last May. However now I need to do a tax return for 2008 and I need to find out the original purchase price of the shares. Unfortunately I do not have any documentation to help me out and I did not keep a copy of the share certificate. I talked to Davy and they appear unable or unwilling to help me! Any advice on what I should do next?
