Trump launches meme coin

US President-elect Donald Trump has launched his own cryptocurrency, which quickly soared in market capitalisation to several billion dollars.
His release of the meme coin, $Trump, comes as he prepares to take office on Monday as 47th president of the US.

Meme coins are used to build popularity for a viral internet trend or movement, but they lack intrinsic value and are extremely volatile investments.
By Saturday afternoon, hours after its launch, the market capitalisation for $Trump reached nearly $5.5bn (£4.5bn), according to CoinMarketCap.com.

Is it an alternative to Ozempic/Wegovy?

To be fair, anybody who buys stuff like this after reading the disclaimer deserves what they get...
We make absolutely no promise or guarantee that the Trump Memes will increase in value or maintain the same value as the amount you paid to purchase same.

The Grifter in Chief just keeps on grifting. After launching Trump Bibles and Trump sneakers, he now jumps on the Crypto bandwagon. And no doubt his delusional supporters will buy into it.

In fairness to Trump, he has won. Hands down.

I do not like the man, but everything was thrown at him including assasination attempts.

Russiagate hoax, Stormy, impeachment x 2, etc

He won the popular vote.

He has won. Those of us who are anti-Trump, need to figure out why he won.

I do like how they refer to both these tokens as 'memes' so they can argue that no-one should have taken them seriously as investments when they pocket the money and run.

And I heard this morning that Trump's coin/meme is valued at $8b.
Proof, if proof is needed, that this is a scam.
And now Melania is launching one , as are the two sons.
Trump Crime Family

Nothing criminal or a scam about all these coins as far as I can see. Not yet anyway...

Close on $10 billion at the moment. Will probably increase as the day goes on. Melina's is $1.66 billion (as if that's a small amount!)

It is nothing more than a game of bomb. Whoever is holding these things when they become irrelevant will be the one to lose it all. Those who bought early and got out early will have made off like bandits, as will Trump and his promoters.

Nothing criminal, but there's likely to be an expectation in the MAGA mind that there is to be profit in buying these tokens, rather than it just raising money for Trump, that will not be realised.
