We got a letter from our mortgage company today stating our tax reliefe is now 150 euro per month. Before the revenue review we were only getting 75 euro. Have revenue made a mistake?
We were only claming trs through my pps No. Should we have been claming through my partners also? The mortgage is 2 years old and in both our names.

TRS is given to each individual single person whose name is on the mortgage.

Interst may be claimed on a qualifying loan in the first 7 years of the life of that loan.

There is different relief for single and married people, and fir first time buyers.

You should check to ensure that you got the correct tax relief in the last 4 years (2005 onwards), and if not make a claim before 31 December 2009 for 2005, as you can only go back 4 years
