Myself and wife bought our house 3 yrs ago. We werent married at the time and I was a 2nd time buyer within the 7 year FTB relief period. My wife was a FTB.
We are re-mortgaging the house with another lender this month and therefore we will be re-applying for TRS. We will be applying as a married couple now.
I have two questions :
1) I became FTB in Dec 2001. For TRS purposes am i still classed as a FTB until Dec 2008 or has my FTB period elapsed as of 1st Jan 2008 ? assuming the revenue guys count by year number i.e. 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007 = 7 yrs
2) When my FTB TRS status expires, will the TRS be calculated separately? as my wife will still be within her FTB period.
