I applied for my TRS online & can anybody please tell me how I can check out my application ? I thought I had filled out the form correctly but I'm not sure that it's been done correctly.

I think I am being given too much in TRS & I don't want to end up owing revenue !

When a divorced person buys a new PPR do they go back to being a FTB for TRS purposes ? This is the first PPR in my own name & I wonder does that make a difference ?

Maybe this would explain my situtation ??

In your first year of TRS you may get more than expected as you get a full years relief even though you may only have the mortgage a few months
eg mortgage 500k
Interest rate 5%
TRS 25K
Mort for 6 months Interest 12.5K

TRS for 1st year 12.5K or just over 2K per month
This will reduce to 1.67 K per month from year 2 assuming increase in mortgage relief in budget to 20K
The above also assumes you are married
This year also counts are year one in the seven years for FTB even though you are not availing of the full amount of the interest relief
(Hope my figueres are correct)

As a non FTB I thought my TRS would be 3000 * 20% = €600 pa. (Single)
I've been late claiming & have been getting €125.71 since Sept. Would they be making up for lost time ?
Total for this yr has been €502.74 so it's not more than my annual allowance would be.
asdfg Are you saying this is ok & that it will sort itself out from Jan onwards ?
That would be great. Maybe I'll give it another month & see what happens.

Yes they have 125*4 = 600

Total for this yr has been €502.74 so it's not more than my annual allowance would be.
Not sure what you mean by this?

Yes, assuming interest is 3000 (should be reducing each year) TFS for the year will be 600 or 50 per month from January. Your Mortgage company will advise you early january what your repayments are and what you TSR is.

My mortgage is only €70k as I'm not a FTB. Seeing as I didn't have it for the full year my Interest is probably just short of €3k therefore my relief has been adjusted accordingly.
125.71*4 = 502.74.
It makes sense to me now.
Thanks a million for your clarification.
