TRS Claim - help

Am new here and hope someone can help with my query. Boyfriend bought a house in 2003, following year i move in. He put up deposit and mortgage is in his name. When i moved in we paid 50/50 on mortgage. We recently married and the house is our ppr. I have never bought a house before either here in ireland or abroad, (however am looking at an investment property here at mo - understand i wont get trs on that)and I am wondering what can i do now to claim TRS? I hope this query makes sense. Does it involve changing/amending original mortgage app and deeds? Also should i just go on from time i got married and have trs if entitled for next 7 yrs or backdate a claim? Apologies if i have things muddled, did read threads on this and am more confused than ever

If you are named on the mortgage then you can claim TRS and should be able to backdate the claim for up to 4 years. If not then I suspect that you can only backdate the claim to when you were married.
