Hi,
I am making a large lawn out the back of my house at the moment and would like to plant some nice trees around the place and also along the driveway.

Silver birch was recommended to me.
Any other ideas and where is a good place to buy some trees. Coillte have a nursery but it looks like you have to get 100 trees at a time which is too much for me.

My favourite tree in my garden is a Snowy Mespilus (Amelanchiar). It gives lovely white flowers in early Spring. It then produces purple berries around May/June (which the blackbirds love). In the Autumn, it has beautiful colours.

A definite all-round tree.

It is planted at the front of my house and it always gets complimented by visitors - especially when it is flowering and in the Autumn.
